The “Rule of Five” is the time-honored tradition for punch-making, dating back to 17th century India.

They originally called it “panch,” the Hindi word for “five,” relating to the Five Key Ingredients that make our HARD PUNCH MADE RIGHT.

This centuries-old recipe was passed down through generations of people who simply didn’t have time for boring drinks. And it was so good, English sailors sailed it all the way back to Europe in the 1800s, where it quickly became an esteemed communal beverage in high society gatherings, with recipes emphasizing balance and complexity through these five ingredients.

Flavorful. Delicious. A nod to simplicity and tradition.

And guess what? It’s the only rule we follow.

THE RULE OF FIVE

Our take on the time-tested recipe

Rule of Five hard Punch

SWEET

Real cane sugar, setting the stage for a delicious-tasting punch.

SOUR

This is typically a citrus component, like lime, lemon or orange flavor, which adds brightness and acidity to the punch.

Strong flavor

What every proper punch needs.

Weak flavor

The diluting element—historically water, tea or additional fruit flavors—to add smoothness and balance. We use additional fruit flavors to pack an unforgettable punch.

Spice

A blend of bold spice flavor, for depth, complexity, and a wholly unique flavor profile.
